Eowyn Progress

Study for Eowyn, 12x15.5, chalk and prismacolor on toned paper.
Making headway on my Eowyn and the Witch King piece, finished this off yesterday and will probably start in on a similar drawing of the Lord of the Nazgul tonight. I'm pleased with the way this came out, I think I hit a nice sweet spot with rendered detail and passages of silhouette. Let me know what you think!

Rob, beautiful drawing. I like it alot. I am not sold on the facial expression. I think you should push that farther in a direction, whether that is fear, anger, whatever. Sell that emotion!
Haha, thanks Mark! I'll tweak the emotion in a few more sketches, before I start pushing around paint. Still on the fence myself with what I want to convey in that moment - will have to read Tolkien's words a few more times and see what I come away with.
This is lovely - I especially like your attention and restraint on the detail. I have to agree on the expression - nail that and you have an INCREDIBLE piece!
Thanks Julia! I'll get working!
Really nice, Rob-I'm with the peanut gallery on the expression, but I know that's NP for you to tweak-
